We are looking for one or two coaches for a successful high school rowing program for the spring season and beyond. The Brighton Rowing Club (www.brightoncrew.org) is located in Rochester, New York and was founded in 1998. The club has grown to approximately 60 rowers and rows out of the Genesee Waterways Center boathouse located on the Genesee River in Rochester. The club has a tradition of traveling to compete in competitive regattas including the New York Scholastic Rowing Championships, Head of the Fish, Head of the Ohio, and the Head of the Charles.
The coach we are looking for will have some experience as a college rower and be willing to acquire a minimum level I coaching certificate. We would also prefer our coach to be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to acquire those skills.
Practice times are generally after school five days per week, with some flexibility available to meet your schedule. We will also expect our coach to travel to the weekend regattas to support their rowers. A small stipend is available.
If you have interest in coaching with us, please reply to the club coordinators, Bill and Lori Gilley, at either address (61 Edgemoor Road, Rochester, NY 14618 – or – wgilley1@rochester.rr.com)
